Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Foundry collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and the control you have. We collect what the app needs to work and nothing we cannot explain to you here.
- Effective date
- June 20, 2026
- What changed
- First published version of the standalone Privacy Policy, written in plain language and kept alongside the rest of the legal center.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: your name, display name, email, birthday, and the optional country and phone number you choose to add.
- Your discipleship activity: the lessons, homework, journals, reflections, and Bible studies you create and submit.
- Messages between you and the mentors or admins you are paired with.
- Usage and device data needed to run and improve the app, such as time on the app and basic error reports.
- Subscription status from the App Store or Google Play, so we know what access your account has.
Why we collect it
We use your information to run Foundry: to pair you with a mentor, deliver your curriculum, save your progress, let you and your mentor message each other, and keep the platform safe. We use anonymous, aggregated usage data to understand how the app is used and to make it better. We do not sell your personal information.
Who can see your information
Your information is visible only to the people who need it for discipleship. A mentor you are paired with can see the homework, journals, and reflections you share with them, along with your messages. Admins of a church or organization you belong to can manage accounts and pairings within that organization. We do not show your private work to other students.
We rely on trusted providers to operate the app, including Firebase by Google for sign-in, data storage, and cloud functions. They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, not for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove the data tied to it as described on our account and data deletion page. Some records may be kept for a short time where the law requires it, then removed.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your profile details from inside the app at any time.
- You can control which notifications you receive in your profile settings.
- You can delete your account and the data tied to it. See the deletion page for the steps.
- You can report or block another user, and our team reviews and acts on reports.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data, such as the right to access or correct it. To exercise any of these, write to us using the address at the bottom of this page.
Children
Foundry is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Foundry changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and note what changed, so you can always see the current version and how it differs from the last.
